Helping public sector organisations reduce their IT storage budget by 80% - With the advances in ICT, and in turn the digitisation of public services, comes the consideration of how it affects IT budgets. Public sector organisations are finding an escalation in data storage costs at a time when the government is putting pressure on dramatically cutting costs throughout the sector.

The Blueprint IT is partnered with a company that has pioneered a protocol shift in the storage market, Coraid Ethernet SAN, which is helping local government, NHS, primary care trusts and educational establishments reduce IT storage budgets by 80%.

Storage is a core component of any virtual environment. Storage architectures need to adopt the scale-out model of the computing world, offering commodity hardware economics and greatly simplified operations. Coraid's session will present a SAN architecture that is faster than Fibre Channel, can be set up in minutes, and is just 1/5 the cost – Ethernet SAN.

In this technical session, we will present both a customer case study and a demonstration of how to build and configure a VMware/Coraid environment. This will include a detailed discussion on how Ethernet SAN compares to traditional Fibre Channel and iSCSI protocols. We will demonstrate how to go from initial SAN set up to having VMotion-ready storage in minutes.

Summary

• Digital data explosion within the public sector
• The evolution of the IT storage market
• Ethernet SAN v Fibre Channel SAN v iSCSI SAN
• Helping public sector organisations reduce their IT storage budget by 80%
• Why choose Coraid?
